Former Congresswoman Mia Love Dies at 49 After Cancer Battle

Mia Love, former U.S. Representative for Utah's 4th district, died at age 49 from glioblastoma. Love's family announced her death on Sunday, stating she passed away peacefully.

Love was diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2022. Following her diagnosis, she underwent treatment, including immunotherapy starting in August 2023. Earlier this month, her daughter indicated the cancer was no longer responding to treatment.

Love served in Congress from 2015 to 2019 and was the first black Republican woman elected to Congress. Prior to her congressional service, she served on the Saratoga Springs City Council and as mayor. After leaving Congress, Love became a CNN political commentator.
